I climbed this relatively easy mountain, the second highest in Spain in 2003 again with my son Alastair but without a guide to slow us down and both of us felt the effects of altitude within an hour of walking again have came from sea level to 3400 meters in just over five hours.
Despite it being July there was still a lot of snow – it is a skiing area in winter.
